How, about spending a night at the Museum?

Airbnb is providing the opportunity to stay at the Musée d’Orsay. The clock room in the museum offers views of the Olympics Opening Ceremony.

When the Musée d’Orsay moved into a railway station in Paris back in 1986 it adorned its train hall with sculptures and housed its impressive collection of Impressionist art in the former railway hotel.

Visitors were able to explore the 19th century clock room on the floor admiring not the timepiece itself but also enjoying panoramic views of Sacre Coeur and Tuileries Gardens overlooking the Seine. The sight from this building is truly awe inspiring isn’t it?

If you’ve ever dreamt of staying now’s your chance. Airbnb has announced that this summer they are offering a stay in the Musée d’Orsay’s transformed clock room designed by French artist Mathieu Lehanneur. In his listing he mentioned, "For a time only experience a night like never, before as we turn this clock room into a luxurious bedroom. I have created a space that embodies both romance and modernity – extravagant.”

The space has been completely covered in paneling furnished with seating and centered around a luxurious looking bed that hangs above the floor. A punching bag is tucked into a corner—a detail hinting at the Paris Olympics.

It's worth noting that Lehanneur was responsible, for designing the torch and cauldron for this years games. Staying in the clock room grants you access to view d'Orsays collection and a special behind the scenes tour of an area not usually open to the public.

Of course you'll have a view of the Olympics Opening Ceremony, from the room. "As the exquisite room deserves the exquisite balcony our museums expansive terrace will be reserved just for you " Lehanneur mentioned. "Paris awaits you; let the Ceremony commence..."

Some of the highlights include accommodations, in a replica of the house from Pixars Up located in New Mexico; a stay at the X mansion inspired by the animated series X Men '97 featuring a vibrant and comic like color palette in Westchester; and experiencing the room that Prince occupied in the 1984 movie Purple Rain.

Additionally guests will have the opportunity to spend a night at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy. Visitors can look forward to sleeping on a bed made with leather to that used in their sports cars surrounded by a collection of Ferraris and 110 prestigious trophies. The package also includes a tour of the museum, dinner at Cavallino—Enzo Ferraris restaurant—and a thrilling ride, in a Ferrari accompanied by racing driver Marc Gené.
